Important Shipping Information
Important Shipping Information for All Customers
Unless you purchase Signature on Delivery, your order will be shipped 'Authority to Leave'.
Please ensure that there is somewhere safe and secure for the parcel to be left. If your letterbox is locked and only has a slit available for letters, your parcel may be left on top of mailboxes or on the floor by couriers who deem this to be a 'safe' place.
We strongly urge you to have your items delivered to a PO Box or a Parcel Locker at your local Post Office, delivered to your workplace, or shipped with Signature on Delivery. Safe delivery is the onus of the receiver.

PLEASE NOTE: We ship using two mailing box sizes:
- 152mm x 132mm x 16mm
This size should fit through most letterbox slit openings. - 210mm x 140mm x 60mm
This size will not fit through most letterbox slit openings and needs to be delivered in person, collected at your local Newsagent, Post Office or Parcel Locker.
Lost and Stolen Parcels
It’s true: some people are truly terrible and will steal your mail. It really sucks, and I’ve been a victim of it myself (so long, expensive probiotics 😢).
Unfortunately, as a small business I cannot compensate, replace or refund stolen or un-retrieved packages that have been confirmed delivered by postal companies. They don’t offer insurance, which means the only winner here is the asshole wearing your jewels.
For this reason, I strongly urge you to have your items delivered to a PO Box or a Parcel Locker at your local Post Office, delivered to your workplace, or shipped with Signature on Delivery. Safe delivery is the onus of the receiver—something my probiotic-less gut learned the hard way.
Our packages are marked Authority to Leave (where possible), or they’ll be taken to your nearest Post Office or Newsagent, unless Signature on Delivery service is purchased. If uncollected, the parcel will be returned to us. If this happens, we can send it back to you for a re-delivery fee. On rare occasions, a refund will be offered minus Afterpay or PayPal fees.
Authority to Leave
Please ensure that there is somewhere safe and secure for the parcel to be left. If your letterbox is locked and only has a slit available for letters, your parcel may be left on top of mailboxes or on the floor by couriers who deem this to be a 'safe' place rather than taking it to a local collection spot.
If your item is left unattended in a public space because it cannot be placed inside a letterbox and it goes missing, any paid shipping insurance is void.
What does Shipping Insurance cover?
Shipping Insurance covers the loss of parcels during shipping under these circumstances:
- The parcel cannot be located by the courier company within their system.
Shipping Insurance does not cover the following situations:
- A courier company has marked the parcel as delivered, and can provide proof that the parcel was delivered to a safe location such as a parcel locker or mailbox.
- The parcel was left unattended in a public space because the mailbox was overflowing or the parcel could not fit inside.
- The parcel was sent back to Maison de Femmes after not being collected by the customer at the collection point (e.g. Newsagent or Post Office)
Incorrect Address
Please make sure that you enter the correct shipping address when you place your order. If you have entered the wrong address, please contact us as soon as possible at hi@maisondefemmes.com so that we can resolve the issue. If the parcel has already been sent, you will be responsible for a $13 return to sender fee, as well as an additional standard shipping fee. Please keep in mind that if an order is cancelled after an order has been sent, you will be refunded the amount minus the delivery fee.
How long until my order ships?
Please Note: Orders are handmade to order and will be shipped within 5 business days.
Late Delivery
Unfortunately, we cannot refund packages that were delivered late or outside suggested delivery times, as Australia Post does not offer a delivery guarantee, just an approximation.
Express Post is no longer guaranteed due to ongoing Covid-19 and weather delays nationwide.

International Customers: Customs Duties
International customers may be responsible for customs duties once the item arrives. This is unfortunate and out of our control.
Each country has it's own fee structure that may or may not include a free threshold. It is impossible for us to stay on top of the percentage charged per country, per value bracket. Please look into your own country's customs duties before placing your order.
We ship from Australia.
International customers are responsible for any duties owed. If they are unpaid, the order will be shipped back to Maison de Femmes in Australia.
International Customers: Unpaid Customs Duties
If you do not pay your customs duties, your order will be shipped back to us in Australia.
Any shipping fees we incur upon receipt will be deducted from your order. To reship the order back to you, you will be required to pay a second round of shipping. Otherwise, you will receive a store credit only.
We regret that this will be the policy. As a small business, we cannot incur additional fees and taxes.
Please stay abreast of the customs duties required for your country when items are shipped from Australia!
